Selena Roberts strikes again

NEW YORK (AP)—Alex Rodriguez may have been using steroids when he was a highly touted high school player and was suspected of using performance-enhancers while playing for the New York Yankees, according to a soon-to-be-released book.
The Daily News reported in Thursday’s edition that Sports Illustrated writer Selena Roberts’ upcoming book “A-Rod” offers an unflattering portrait of the MVP slugger as a needy personality who wanted his ego stroked constantly.
The paper doesn’t say how it obtained a copy of the Harper Collins book, scheduled to be released on May 12.
A high school teammate of A-Rod’s told Roberts that the future No. 1 draft pick was on steroids as a prep player and his coach knew it—an allegation the coach, Rich Hoffman, denied.
Rodriguez has admitted to using performance-enhancers while with the Texas Rangers but insists he gave up the habit when he was traded to the Yankees in 2004.
In the book, however, an unnamed major leaguer is quoted as saying A-Rod and former Yankees pitcher Kevin Brown, who was named in the Mitchell Report, were seen together with human growth hormone—or HGH—in 2004.
The book also goes on to say that two anonymous Yankees said they believed A-Rod was using banned substances based on visual side effects, and that a clubhouse staffer said management had a suspicion that that the third baseman may have been juicing.
This seems like nothing but speculation. Before, A-Rod was caught in the crosshairs of actual test results. Here, it’s a lot of “he said, she said” that I don’t think fans will buy into.
Oh, I think more fans will buy into this than you might think…
I don’t. Unless A-Rod tells me himself, I’m not buying it. Or he can just say it in a press release or something. But I am so sick of all of the anonymous players saying things. If they are going to rat someone out like that, at least admit you did it. Cowards. But if A-Rod really did use steroids in high school, I think that would be my last straw. He’s not on my good list.
Bunch of bs, some of these writers are just a joke and have nothing better to do. Leave they guy alone he admitted it. REMEBER there are 108 other guys that tested positive in 03? no other names came out why? id love her email so i could write something to her

The whole mess stinks to high heaven. A-Roid’s credibility is totally shot, so, it really doesn’t matter what he says about this.
The numbers he put up throughout his career have been suspicious. Especially strange was the 2007 season, in which he hit 54 HRs and had 85 extra base hits, when he averaged 40/68 over the prior three campaigns. And then he had physical issues last year before totally breaking down this season. This is all in keeping with the tell-tale signs of chemical enhancement.
So much for A-Roid being “the best player in baseball.” These days, that has as much persuasiveness as “Barry Bonds, all-time home run champ.”
Let the inquiry proceed.
With all due respect what in the world is wrong with Selena Roberts? What does she have on A-ROD besides steroids which we all know about. You are doing this for one reason and one reason only. The money, greed, the root of all evil. You don’t even have the children in mind. You don’t think those adorale kids will be told how bad their daddy is. You are vindictive Ms. Roberts and unless he hurt you, in any matter, you should please stop adding fuel to the fire.

I can’t express how much I hate Selena Roberts. This is the same woman that accused the Duke Lacrosse team of rap. What a B-ATCH!!!! I can’t stand her, she should be the one under scrutiny and should be fired!
I think her and Arod deserve each other….but I didn’t know the lacrosse team could sing.
Selena is the worst sports reporter ever.
In most of her stories she never even interviews the people she blasts. She is a coward and certainly can never admit it when she is wrong.

One of the few positive articles she wrote was about Maggie Dixon the former Army Womens BB Coach who unfortunately died.
She likes the downtrodden which is commendable, but, that’s the only redeaming quality about her.
She and another jerk Skip Bayless make a good team.
