Scott Proctor’s relationship with Joe Torre has finally come to an end (okay, there was a brief hiatus in 2007, but they were inevitably reunited). Proctor has reportedly signed a 1-year deal with the Marlins after suffering from an injury plagued ‘08 season. Proctor is a guy who hates to succumb to injuries (or tell his coaches about them) and Torre is a guy who loves to overuse pitchers. Together, that combination was nearly fatal, but now, in Florida, Scott Proctor may have a chance to survive.

Biggest Bust of 2008
January 1, 2009, 6:12 pmIn 33 games with NY, Pudge delivered 3 RBI. He hit 2 homers and had an OPS of .580 (to compare, Mark Teixeira’s SLG with the Angels was .632). Think about that for a second… 3 RBI and 2 HR. Yuck.

Giants trying to land Manny?

If you were ever concerned with Hal Steinbrenner’s management of his father’s team, I think your fears have officially been alleviated (and then some). The team spent money and they spent it wisely this winter. When George Steinbrenner stepped down, many of us wondered about Hal’s desire to lead the organization. Now, the off-season has seriously solidified faith in Hal Steinbrenner’s commitment to the franchise.
