Sox Trade Coco

November 19, 2008, 12:35 pm

The Red Sox moved Coco Crisp today, trading him to the Royals for Ramon Ramirez (a former Yankee farmhand who has been a good pitcher since landing in Colorado for Shawn Chacon in 2005). I think this helps the Sox pitching wise — Ramirez could be a setup guy — but it also allows them to free up some money to go after A.J. Burnett. Also, as PA notes, the Royals now have a glut of outfielders. They could trade Mark Teahen to the Cubs, a rumor that’s currently doing its rounds, or they could look to move someone like David DeJesus, a rumored trade candidate a few months ago, to the Yankees who could use a proven CF.
