Congrats To Tampa Bay
October 19, 2008, 11:55 pmThe Rays did what the Yankees couldn’t do in 2004, and what the Indians couldn’t do just a year ago. Congratulations to the Rays for winning the AL Championship, although I’ll be rooting for the Phillies in the World Series (I won’t mind if the Rays win, though). The Sox walked the game 7 tightrope one too many times and it finally bit them in the ass.
On a side note, isn’t it sad that the Yankees thought about taking Matt Garza in the ‘05 draft and decided to pursue C.J. Henry instead?

well, we all know that the Yankees do some shitting when it comes to drafting players. Kudos to them, though, for letting Flash leave and drafting Joba. Maybe it’s the Yanks’ damn luck, but how could Ellsbury flourish when Melky doesnt??? Personally I feel that Melky and Brett Gardner could become greater stars then Jacoby in the next few years…
first of all, the rays are so good. thats the only way i can describe them! theyre just so good! and tari, melky and gardner will be a few times better than ellsbury next year. melkys gonna hit .294!
The Rays will have problems winning games if Longoria keeps doing this .
I would feel worse if I had traded Garza and Bartlett for a corner OFer who only hit 10HRs and made every pop fly an adventure. Then missed the playoffs in a one game playoff.
Or if I was a team that was in line to get the #1 pick in the 07 draft, but for some reason won our last 3 games against the Tigers so we ended up missing out on David Price just to keep the Tigers from winning the division (and the Tigers still made the playoffs as the wild card and went to the series anyways).
