I’ve been parked in front of the television for several hours now as ESPN milks the finale for all its worth. I’m looking forward to this pre-game ceremony, though. Bernie, Tino, Wells, Yogi, Goose, all these guys are there. Win or lose, it’s a great day to be a Yankee fan.

Well Said

Here’s what Joe Girardi had to say about today’s game:

“I think this building should close on a win,” Girardi said. “That’s what this building is used to doing. I think that would be pretty special.”

Agreed.

UPDATE – I’ll just keep updating this post throughout the day until lineups, later on. Here’s a great read by Buster Olney. It’s a random grouping of players telling us what Yankee Stadium means to them.

UPDATE – The Red Sox won against Toronto today, so if the Yankees lose tonight, their playoff dream will officially end and the BoSox will have captured their own playoff spot.
