What To Do With Joe
July 1, 2008, 11:42 pm
After tonight’s outcome, you really have to wonder about Joe Girardi’s managerial moves. There has been a steady string of strange and questionable moves made by General Joe, and I’m starting to doubt my first post on this blog, where I essentially advocated for his hiring. Is this really the great strategist that we all heard about, or has Joe been something entirely different? Watching Melky Cabrera handle the bat in the 9th was pretty significant on a variety of levels.
More on this later, so stay tuned.

I’m with you man. many times after a loss I sit in my chair and wonder about the lineup he put out there or a move that he made or didn’t make. Is it too early to start missing torre??
i’m there with you man, lol, believe me. with torre, we got mad at joe for some things he didn’t do. he didn’t play lofton against schilling in 2004, he didn’t bunt on schilling, i mean, things like that bother you (he didn’t do anything during the bug incident with joba), but those are debatable incidents and have merits and they’re not necessarily tactical moves since there’s an undercurrent of right and wrong (and in the bug incident, the umpires had a lot of say). his bullpen management was weak and he didn’t play enough rookies, and that was the biggest complaint.
but with girardi, it’s like, he make’s the biggest strategic mistakes and even the most unfaithful fan could have called him out. i’ll talk about it more in the morning because i’m writing up a specific report, but it’s really been pretty terrible.
I miss Bowa.
I miss Mr. T.
I was sitting there in utter disbeleif after the dp
I can’t beleive that he didn’t make a move there
