Tough Times For Igawa
June 20, 2008, 3:31 pmRainer Sabin (NY Times) has a pretty somber piece on Kei Igawa and his experience with the Yankees thus far. Igawa has really been trying to find his way back to the big league team, yet his attempts have not been too successful. After reading Sabin’s text, you’ll feel for the guy. He’s not Carl Pavano, he’s a guy who came over expecting to do some damage after years of success in Japan and when he arrived here, he found out that his raw stuff wasn’t as good as he thought. Imagine how Mike Mussina felt last year when he found out he couldn’t get hitters out with just his stuff. Igawa’s kind of in the same boat, except he hasn’t turned the page like Mussina has.

There must be something wrong with his mechanics.
