Here’s an interesting read from the NY Times on Jose Veras, who has pitched well with the team ever since he got the call. Veras attributes his newfound success to Mariano Rivera. According to Veras, Mariano encouraged him to be confident in his fastball and to throw it more often which Veras has certainly done.
