Mike Mussina was knocked around in his start against the Astros. He’s not worried though (not yet) and he hopes to work out the kinks as ST progresses. Karstens pitched 3 scoreless innings and Mark Feinsand believes he has the best shot at being Girardi’s long-man.

Our friend Bobby Murcer is doing well and could be released from the hospital as early as tomorrow. Bobby underwent a brain biopsy today after doctors discovered (last week) what they felt was an “area of concern.” Every Yankee blog/fan wishes Bobby and his family the best during this difficult time. The biopsy results will likely be in later this week.

Finally, former University of Cincinnati ballplayer, Neall French, a 24-year old catcher who missed all of the 2006 season (redshirted) but came back to put up some good numbers in 2007, has signed a minor league deal with the Yankees.
