Mariano Reportedly Agrees

Thanks to River Ave Blues for this one.  Pete Caldera of the Bergan Record is reporting that Mariano has agreed to the 3-year 45 million dollar contract offered by the Yankees and will sign early next week.  This is similar to all the other news (nothing is official yet), but Caldera says that a friend of Mo’s confirmed it, stating that he was essentially making the Yankees squirm a bit by waiting and never expected to get a 4-year deal (payback for Hank’s age comments).  Mariano’s “friend” even said that he would have taken a 2-year deal with an option… uuugh… how wonderful.
